HP C1415fnw not found on iPad

Bought new HP C1415fnw with wireless and added it to my home network. Upgraded firmware to latest version that HP says supports AirPrint. Communicates and prints to my netbook over the wireless. iPad can't find it. Printer has a fixed IP address on the network. Wireless router is a Sonicwall TZ170W. WLAN to WLAN in firewall is set to any. Printer can also be pinged. I also have an iPhone and it too can't find the printer. Both i devices running IOS 4.31. Any suggestions out there?

Thanks for the links. The SonicWall is so complicated I just give up and call support. I will post whatever they tell me tomorrow. Maybe I have to by a new router as well to fully enjoy the Apple experience. Had to retire my 10 year old printer so far. Have to admit the iPad is a real game changer even for old PC guys like me. I unfortunately need a SonicWall style solution on my home network as I have a persistent VPN connection to the mothership. Router owes me nothing either so if it has to go so be it.

I've been having the exact same problem with my HP 410. I've been able to AirPrint to compatible printers in other networks, so I'm reasonably sure it's the SonicWALL. I have some experience with SW, and find 1st tier support there usually less than helpful. Pretty sure the bonjour service and multicast are the key, as rbi noted above. I'm going to read through those links, and I found some others that I've read through. I should know tonight if any of it worked. Please post any update if you get one and I'll do the same.

Here's a followup. It's not officially a fix, but for me it's an acceptable workaround. I purchased an inexpensive Wireless Access Point (not router) and plugged it into the LAN of the SonicWALL. So this has a different SSID than my TZ180's WLAN, and is on the same network as it's LAN (the HP is on the WLAN). As soon as I joined my iPhone4 to this AP, I checked and Hey Presto! AirPrint sees my HP 410 and prints to it with no problems - EVEN THOUGH THE HP IS ON ANOTHER WIRELESS SSID, CHANNEL, ZONE & SUBNET THAN THE iPHONE! The Apple documentation says this shouldn't work, but tough - they said the way I had it set up should work and it didn't. I'm not the kind of guy who needs to know 'why', so I'm good. Since this is presumably a less secure connection, I locked it down: hidden SSID, WPA2, MAC filtering to only allow my iPhone. Works like a charm.
