updating graphics drivers in Bootcamp

Hi all,

I'm using Windows 7 32bit home premium in bootcamp, do a bit of gaming. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to update the Radeon drivers for this model Radeon HD 6750M.

Everything is working great at the moment, but drivers get updated all the time as new games come out etc, and when I tried to get the new drivers from AMD website it didn't;t recognize my GPU.

I've heard the bootcamp driver updates are slow/non-existant so I don;t want to be stuck with this base version for ever.

Anyone else have a solution, experience this?

I wrote a post on this and Apple deleted it.

Long story short: I installed a modded version of the 11.4 beta drivers (on my 2011 Macbook Pro 17" on Windows 7 Bootcamp) and saw a 20-30% increase in performance in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Downside was, it was using the drivers for a 6600M (not the 6750M), and the game would crash every 30-45 mins.

If you want to experiment, do a google search for "11.4 mobility mod" and there's a thread on the Guru3D forums that has the modded drivers. Alternatively, you could simply download the Radeon mobility drivers from AMD (the generic version, 100+ MB file) and use the Mobility Mod application (google for it) to modify the drivers to install.

You'll get a kick out of the performance boost, but once your games start crashing, go to device manager > Display adapters > Right click - properties > Roll Back Driver to get the stock 6750M drivers back.

Apple needs to hurry up and release these updated drivers. I'm guessing the soonest we'll see anything Apple-supported is with the release of Lion.
