Apps wont sync to Ipod touch

I recently bought angry birds from the app store but it wont allow me to sync it to my device. It keeps saying it wasnt installed because I need newer Ipod isnt upto date. But there arent any updates available for my Ipod. I dont know what else to do. I have a 1st gen touch 16GB

Compaq, Windows 7

What version of iOS are you running?

Angry Birds needs 3.0 iOS or later.

You can upgrade to 3.1.3 for a fee.

I'm actually having a similar issue. Just got Angry Birds off iTunes on my PC and when I go to sync, I can't select the box in iTunes. The bottom left box is checked that says "Automatically sync new apps" but Angry Birds and another app are still not showing up on my iTouch. I just upgraded to the latest iOS as well. I think it was 4. something.

That's because you need to purchase 3.1.3 from the link I gave you above.

I didn't say free.......... I said for a fee.............
You have to pay for it........

At this time that is far as the 1st generation can upgrade to.
