Turn Off Text Messaging ?

Can MMS be disabled? I do not wish to receive any text messages as 'wrong numbers' hit from time to time, and are a nuisance as well as costing.

Turning off SMS in Messages does not affect text messages.

You could probably cll your provider to see if they can stop this feature.

In "Settings -> Messages" you CAN disable MMS (MMS = multimedia messaging service). SMS is text messaging (SMS = short meassaging service).

The only way to disable SMS is to ask you carrier to remove it from your contract services - only they can disable it (there is no way to do so from on the iPhone itself).
