Moving a photo from an email attachment into iPhoto

When I try and drag a photo sent me as an attachment to an email message into iPhoto it just snaps back to the email window. If I drag the photo from the email to the desktop and then from the desktop to iPhoto it works OK and sticks in iPhoto. Is there a way to avoid this extra step?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.6), Also use a PC with Window XP

IF you are using Apple mail then on the save button in the email there is a little grey triangle in the lower right hand corner - click on it to open the save menu and click on send to iPhoto tosend the photos in one simple step

Sorry I should have mentioned that I am using Outlook for the Mac as my email client.

Then save the file to the desktop and then import it from there.

Then your choice is to save to the desktop and import into iPhoto

This used to work fine. But it doesn't work with OS 10.8.2 and iPhoto 9.4. Anyone else figured this out?

Someone else spotted that if you Quicklook the attachment then use the 'Add to iPhoto' button in the QL window, that works.

Not on your specific computer

Obviously every release is tested, alpha tested, beta tested and then released and a very, very few prople have problems. This appeared to be a bug and I expect it will be fixed in the next release. Time will tell
