Jun 30, 2011 1:06 PM in response to PFritz21by The hatter,That is a Do It Yourself hard drive replacement. OWC Macsales has video and sells a kit plus most crashed drives are not bad sectors that need to be mapped out, though laptop drives do have more early drive deaths due to heat.
A good dose of Disk Warrior is sometimes all that is needed, though not cheap up front.
And a good reason to keep bootable clones as backups.
