iPad 2 - Problem with 3G connection

Hi,
I'm italian user.
I have iPad 2 wi-fi + 3G. When I turn-on 3G connection it's impossible to connect on internet.
If I cancel and rewrite APN the connection start again. But it's impossible to do this every time.... My firmware is 4.3.1 and I already restored.... Solutions????

I have the same problem (well, similar). UK iPad 2 32Gb Wifi+3G.

Normally I have the 3G turned off unless I need it as when i'm at home it uses Wifi.

However, if I disable Wifi and then enable 3G, although the 3G comes up, the IP connection doesn't. I have to restart the iPad with the wifi disabled and 3G enabled to get the 3G to work.

I would suggest the issue is with their implementation of the IP stack and it not clearing out routes properly (or letting go of DHCP possibly) if you enable Cellular data whilst the iPad is on. The IP stack doesn't seem to be routing out through the 3G in that case and therefore nothing thinks it can see the Internet?

The only way we can conclusively test that is for someone to jailbreak the device to get to the command line and take a snapshot of the routing tables for each configuration. That will show where the error is.

But the simple answer is you're not alone, and it'll need Apple to fix it (it can't be carrier specific as I'm on Orange Uk and you're not!)

Hi - I suggest you all read this thread, because iPad 1 generation or iPad 2 - still the same problem - it's for sure related to software issue - no doubt about it, because it has been reported from all over the world - only Apple does not seem to accept the fact. Noone had any problems before upgrading from 4.2 and to 4.3 release software. Apple even made an 4.3.1 without solving this massive problem! My best advice to people having a iPad first generastion - stick to the 4.2 software - it works perfectly.
Shame on Apple for not fixing this issue. And shame on Apple for not letting us go back to working software untill problems are solved!

Make sure to get a ticket number (case ID)
so the issue is being properly registered by Apple.
