Trouble with Ipod touch 4g DFU Mode!

So I recently went to my Apple retail store got a replacement Ipod for my 4th Gen Touch. It was working perfectly when i got home then i had to go on vacation for a few weeks. My ipod was working perfectly till about an hour into the trip where it just shut off and didnt turn back on. I didnt know what was going on so i had to wait till i was in the hotel. I connected it to itunes and it told me that it was in recovery/dfu mode. i didnt know how this happened but i restored it as a new ipod thinking it was just a mishap. But unfortunately, i have restored it about 8 times in a 7 day week. It works fine till it decides to shut off. 3 of the times, it happened while my ipod was resting on my nightstand in the middle of the night.

I truthfully have no idea what is going on, i have tried everything (restoring it, downloading OS again, etc)
If anyone knows anything about this situation or a solution, im willing to listen,Im fairly new to these forums. Thanks in advance!

Take it back to Apple. If it is still doing it after restoring, it's more than likely a hardware issue.

Basic troubleshooting steps.
