I didn't have any problems loading those sites, v10.6.7 and Safari 5.0.4.
Go to Safari / Preferences - Advanced. Click the Change Settings button next to: Proxies
That will prompt the System Preferences / Network - Proxies pane.
If any of the boxes are selected on the left, deselect, then click OK. Restart Safari. See if that makes a difference.
If Proxies aren't the issue, check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. If you have any installed, turn that off, then try Safari.
that didnt fix it. Proxies are all unchecked and there are no extensions. The log in into this Apple Support page also times out: https://support.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/ACAuthWeb.woa/wa/login...
Does it maybe have to do something with auto login, flash, security settings or something?
I downloaded and installed all the latest software. The Macbook is new and I didnt play with any browser settings so it should all be still on default settings.
Hi, further to this I deleted all cookies now and set them on 'always accept'. The error message changed now from time out to:
Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “https://meine.deutsche-bank.de/” because Safari can’t establish a secure connection to the server “meine.deutsche-bank.de”.
