iPad WiFi to Ad Hoc Network to View LocalHost on PC

Hi There,

I need to connect my iPad to my PC via an ad hoc wifi network and then view the localhost that is running on the laptop.

Last resort I could connect my iPad to a wireless router that my laptop is wired to but with no internet access.

I have tried just creating the ad hoc network and browsing by machine name, IP etc but that doesn't work.

Please help!
