Kkrafts - Download the Itunes Producer program. From there you can go into each individual book and change the meta-data accordingly. (Of course you'll have to re-upload the book). If nothing changes, log into iTunes Connect and contact Apple support via the Contact Us link at the bottom. Let them know what you needed changed and they'll get to it asap.

Thanks for responding. I used iTunes producer to publish my book. Unfortunately, there is no place to change the seller field, however, either in an existing book or when creating a new book.
I also contacted apple via the Contact Us link and despite clarifying and re-asking the same question, I was merely directed to unrelated FAQ pages.
I don't know what else to do! There must be a live person at Apple somewhere that can help!
Thanks, Cyana, that does look like a good program. However, there is no place to change the seller field in the metadata. I believe that is something that Apple simply adds on its own after the book is submitted.
Ahhhh...Yeah. That should be automatically set up from the day you signed up. For example - if you signed all the digital paperwork with Honeydew Melon Publishing. The seller would then be Honeydew Melon Publishing.
One thing I can say is that although I'm big an Apple user for quite some time they've really dropped the ball on their service to smaller and independent publishers. You can't actually talk to anyone from what I've found, although I'd love to be corrected since I have a pending issue that's over a week old and have no idea what I've done for them to Remove my books from sale. And I had an earlier issue where they didn't respond for nearly 4 weeks.
If I find out something soon I'll let you know and vice versa. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to contact someone or to get them to set up a forum, similar to this, for publishers where they can respond to us directly and we can work with each other to find solutions.

Thanks! I totally agree: on the one hand I love my Apple products; on the other hand I'm beyond frustrated with their lack of support. I will certainly keep you posted if I figure out anything or get through to anyone.
Sigil http://code.google.com/p/sigil/ lets you edit the epub file directly (also on code level), so you should be able to search for the seller field content and change it, as long as it is stored with the epub file.

Hi
Did you try to edit the seller name with this tool?
Thanks
This is an interesting discussion.
Do Apple call the "seller" the same as what we in the UK call the "Publisher"?
