What jumper settings?

So I bought a 500gb WD caviar blue to replace my dying oem drive, only problem is I didn't pay attention when pulling off the plugs on the stock WD drive. How should I put the pin connctor on the drive.

Which of the following pins to I use? Do I go 1-7 or 2-8?

Exactly which model WD drive and which iMac are you putting it into?

If it is a newer 21.5 or 27" then most likely it will not work because the drive is not equipped with the correct internal temperature sensor.

If you are replacing the Drive in an earlier G5 or Intel iMac, then I suggest that you follow WD's installation instructions.

It's a late 2009 27" imac. I'm replacing the stock 1tb wd caviar black with a 500gb wd caviar blue.

There are at least 5 different 500GB WB Caviar Blue Drives, WD5000AAKX, WD5000AAKS, WD500KS, WD5000AAJS, WD5000JS.....?
