Undo "forget device" Revisited...

I was stupid enough to do a forget device on both my iPhone 3Gs and iPad2 due to some difficulties with the bluetooth connection. Before the stupid move I used the phone to share internet to the iPad (WiFi version).

Now after "forgetting" the devices I cannot get them paired again.

I have read some old discussions about this but I can not get anything to work. I have reseted both the phone and the pad according to previous answers but nothing works... 😟

Can someone please help me with this??

I did the same thing and found the answer from a Genius on another posting.

Do this reset on your iPhone and you should be all set.

I did it to my iPhone and it worked great, and without losing any of my iPhone's settings.

If your Bluetooth devices still show up in the list of Bluetooth devices in your iPhone (which they probably do not), then delete those Bluetooth device profiles from your iPhone. Then turn the Bluetooth application in your iPhone OFF and then perform a reset on the iPhone by holding both the home button and sleep button down at the same time until the screen shows the apple logo, then release. Then wait until the normal home screen with icons comes back up on your iPhone. Then you should be able pair your Bluetooth devices to your iPhone again.

Although I haven't had any Bluetooth problems with my iPad, I would imagine that the same reset process decribed above for the iPhone should also work for your iPad.

Well the best thing is there is on off button on bluetooth device , first let it off then as you add every new bluetooth just press on button until the device is in search mode and then iphone or whatever find it again . All done. i have done it many times . if not just resst setting not the data reset and do the above procedure again. just easy to do in the first procedue. because if u say forget the device but your bluetooth remembers it, so need to off and then on again, best of luck

I had this problem with my Jawbone Icon. Went though some drills I saw on posts (reset the iPhone & reset the Jawbone) with no luck. Then I plugged plugged my Jawbone into my computer and changed some setting via Jawbone's "MyTalk" website... and then the iPhone once again recognized the Jawbone.

Advanced settings

Changed Jawbone name

Connections: Removed iPhone

Hope this helps those with the Jawbone Icon.

I also told my iPhone 5 to "forget this device." I am using a Plantronics M55 bluetooth headset. The above fixes didn't work for me so I called Plantronics. The customer rep told me to:

1. turn on the M55

2. hold down the on/off button for 10 seconds

Then the indicator light flashed red and blue as it's supposed to and my iPhone (on the bluetooth screen) showed the M55. I just had to tap it to select it and it's paired.

To be clear, I did reset the general settings of the phone previously but the customer rep told me that it wasn't necessary. I'd already done it though. Now I have to figure out how to set up wifi again.
