Keys falling off new MacBook Pro 15" (2011)
I'm almost inclined to ask to have the entire keyboard replaced. Thoughts?

Same thing has happened to my 3 month old 15" macbook pro. The left shift key has come off!
Same here, my 'G' key came off! Gonna head to an Apple store. I got my 15" macbook pro in March 2011. 😠
I live in India and i bought a 13" MBP not more than 2 weeks ago. It seems to have the same problem as you guys have mentioned. I have the 'delete' key coming off and for the past 3 days have had one **** of a time trying to resolve this between Apple India customer care and their Authorised Service providers here. There has been no end in sight to this problem. If i had known of such lousy service in India for Apple, I wouldn't have touched their products.
I could have got the same lousy service at much, much lower cost if I had bought any other brand of laptop 🙂

But then you'd have had a lousy laptop, too.
😁 I agree...but at the moment my entire 'Apple' experience has not lead me to believe that i got anything better from Apple. It would be great if they could change my mind about that.
Just to let you know Apple fixed my key there and then in the store. Excellent customer support as usual from Apple UK.
Yup, same problem. Bought a new 13" MacBook Pro in April, then left home for a deployment. Within a couple weeks I had two keys falling off. I can pop them back on, but under normal use the same two (a and y) keep popping back off. Going to visit Apple when I return from my trip for a new keyboard.
Me too. Purchased my 13" MacBook Pro a few months ago. G-key keeps popping off under normal use. Easy to snap back on, but obviously shouldn't happen. Going to call Apple and see what they can do for me.
After my last 15" MBP 3 years old and the keys are not responding well anymore, I don't even use the built in keyboard on my new 17" anti-glare quad core i7.
People think it's strange I spent $4000 on this machine, yet use a cheap, tough full sized PC keyboard I picked up at a yard sale for $4 because it's considerably tougher.
I brought my MacBook pro 13" 5 weeks ago and the number 6 was lifting up from the right hand side I just pushed it back down and every now an then the key would start to lift again. Tonight the key has just fell off, this is my first ever Mac I just hope this is not a regular problem.
Having exactly the same issue here. The right arrow key has popped off my mac book pro 2011 keyboard and won't clip back in. So far been told it's not covered by warranty, then told it is, then told to send high res photo's as it might not be. Losing patience rapidly.
I'm in the UK and found these guys: thebookyard.com - thinking this is going to be the quickest way to resolve this one. Abysmal support on this so far. To be fair this is the first time I have had to use apple support in 5 years, having purchased 4 macs in that time. There seems to be some underlying accusation that I have damaged the machine which is what really grates. Anyway, off to fetch the camera.
I'm having the same exact problem as well! I just bought my MBP 2011 in september and already two keys are falling off. I went in and they told me that they don't recommend replacing the keyboard because they don't like to open up a new computer to fix the keys or something like that so that I should just replace the key itself. It's been about almost 3-4 weeks now since I've been to the apple store and they still haven't called me in yet to say they have the key now. And now another key is falling off. Also I just had my hard drive replaced last week. I was never given a reason why my hard drive went out but just told that it needed to be replaced. Now I just feel like getting a new one already. I feel like I was sold a refurbished computer.
Me too. Brand new Macbook Pro. Function key fell off 3rd time I used it. I have been a mac user forever and have never ever had this problem with a mac. Hope this doesn't keep happening....
