IPSec VPN shared secret maximum length???

Hi there,

I tried to connect to my corporate VPN on my iPad 2 (also on iPhone 3G and iPhone 4). The shared secret (aka. group password) is a 128 character long alphanumeric string, which works perfectly in Cisco VPN Client for Mac 4.9.01.

When I try to connect, it says:

"The VPN Shared Secret is incorrect"

At first I thought I'd mistyped the password, but then I created a profile in iPhone Configuration Utility and copied the shared secret into it. The result was the same.

Does anyone know about the character limitations of the shared secret?

Andras

Google didn't find anything about the maximum length except this one post mentioning a max of 32 characters.

It is an unconfirmed statement so I wouldn't consider it authoritative unless someone can point to some documentation.
