iCal Error Message - Calendar not found on server

I received this error message (my username was correct in the message)

The calendar https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/MYUSERNAME@gmail.com/user/ was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct.

I've tried deleting the calendar and adding it again but still get this message.

This problem began for me about the same time it began for you.

My solution was to change the iCal account information from using my "alternate" email to using my my actual "@gmail" address. In iCal, go to the Server Path setting for your Google account. If see your "alternate" email address in the path, change only this part to your actual gmail address.

If you used your alternate email address as your User setting, you may need to change this to your Gmail user as well. In my case my "user" is the same for both addresses so I only changed the Server Path.

Gmail recently changed the way they handle alternate email addresses in Calendar. I'm guessing this is a side effect and you now must use your actual @gmail.com address in your iCal settings.

Or we might have entirely different problems.

Cheers,
t~

ok... so it was still failing to update on google (it shows all these old entries / appointments that i deleted weeks ago)... i moved an appointment (on google) and it refreshed to ical (yay) ... i then deleted it from ical (again) and now the error message is back - but only on the delegate that had appointment changes. frustrating.

further ts shows that its only 1 of the 4 delegates i have that is failing to push updates.... of course its the Most important delegate 🙂 the work calendar.

I did this as well (deleting the Calendar Cache), and it worked. However, there were a few nuances.

1. The first time I tried it, 2 calendars appeared in my iCal. I then deleted one of them, closed iCal, went back to the finder, and deleted both "Calendar Cache" and "Calendar Cache~".

This fixed the problem temporarily. However, my iCal lost the connection with the Gmail calendar once again about 10 minutes later.

I performed the whole procedure one more time, and now it all seems to work. Appointments which had been created on my iCal calendar but had not been synched to my Gmail calendar had to be adjusted slightly and then updated so they are synced back onto my Gmail calendar - so I went through those and did a small adjustment (just added a space). Luckily there were only a couple as I haven't had this problem for too long.

Invitees to the meetings then received their invites (finally).

co-incidentally i did delete the cache's again too.... no change... but i tried your fix of editing the events ever so slightly - yup that works... but it doens't take care of items i deleted in ical weeks ago and not updating (they're still on google) - so i had to del them manually and compare the next 4 months of calendars to fix it -- not good google - not good.

created a New appointment - and the error has re-appeared and the new appointment fails to populate to google calendar

error: The calendar https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/<redacted>@group.calendar.google.com/user/ was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct.

then i had to once again (3rd time) delete the cache and restart ical -- then change the just made appointment - and refresh google - then finally the new appointment showed up -- based on this - i will have to delete the cache and have ical 'upgrade' the calendar every time i want to add an appointment!

You mean Apple, for not communicating this change to Google before implementing, since it started with iCloud changes. And the fact that iCloud moves data from your phone's calendar to iClouds without telling you it'll all be gone on your Google one, which may be syncing to other devices and computers? Someone at Apple didn't do enough testing with real world issues like users who use Google services, or they didn't care.

great.... not good news -- i hadn't thought if iCloud since i am not using it. probably won't either. thank goodness i have an android .. lol.. but for now i cannot create any new appointment without then deleting this cache... i tested in the main calendar too - as long as i create a new appointment i then get the calendar not found error....

complete fail.

this kind of kludgy behaviour is why i left MS years ago in the first place.
