I just started trying to use my black macbook ( 2.4 intel core 2 duo) to record video and audio with the isight camera in imovie...
The video is fine, but i cant seem to hear anything on playback and it looks as if no sound was recorded.
I checked levels in voiceover and turned them down/off, no change...
The isight works well in skype ( volume and video) and when i check system preferences the volume monitor is good....also the internal mic works fine when using music notattion software as well as garage band, so i dont think there is something wrong with the mic...so how to get the volume to record/work with imovie?
thanks-

You have done some good troubleshooting and shown that your microphone is working. Here are a couple of things you can try:
(1) Your posted system information shows you are still using
Mac OS X (10.5.7). You should apply the 10.5.8 Combo Update using the following process:
• Backup your Mac. If you used Time Machine, turn it off now.
• Disconnect peripherals and restart Mac
• Use Disk Utility to repair permissions
• Download and install
http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_8_ComboUpdate
• Repair permissions again immediately following the restart that finishes the update.
• Test iMovie again
(• Turn Time Machine on again when you are satisfied that the update worked.)
(2) If your problem continues, reinstall iMovie from your iLife disk.
Repair permissions before
and after the reinstall.
(3) We will watch for your status update.
