Well I now have spoken to two different Apple Airport support techs (who I called on Friday and Monday) who have told me that it may connect or may not. Sometimes it may connect for about 1/2 hour and then stop working. They both said you should bring a computer with you.
This is not a solution. If the iPad is supposed to be something you can take with you traveling, then there needs to be a better solution for Ethernet connections. Why not Airport Utility for iPhone and iPad?
Hello Coolmax,
This sounds like a great idea! However, when I look at the specs for the 330ge, Asus say that the utilities only support various windows flavours. Is it possible to use the devicce without needing to use the utilities, eg, for device discovery? I am guessing that the answer must be yes since you use it with your iPad but wanted to check first. Thank you.

Ah, the iPad is designed for travel, either with wifi or 3G. Yeah, the 3G is a tad expensive IF you're going to want streaming video or audio. I suppose Apple could come up with a mini ethernet port. They now sell a ethernet to USB dongle for the MacAir line.
Personally, I like the iPad the way it is. However, the iPad 3 looms on the horizon and maybe that will address this area although I wouldn't bet on it.

You can use any consumer router without installing anything onto the iPad. The router utilities are provided by the manufacturers because they think users may want to use the branded utilities instead of using the iPad or computer built in networking utilities.
Thank you very much!
