ipod nano charger

I just got a new nano to replace an older ipod. Am I correct in understanding that my old charger will not work with my new nano? And if i have to go buy a new charger, do i need to get anything else with it?

Welcome to the discussions. If your old iPod charger has a dock connector:

It will work with your new iPod.

I have the cord that connects the ipod to the charger, but it wont work with my ipod-it says that it's not compatible

Does the cord look like the picture I posted? Are you connecting the iPod to the charger with the cord, not the computer?

No, the nano, when you plug the USB port into the computer (as you would to update you itunes)it will charge it from the USB port. You can buy an adaptor that will adapt an regular outlet into a USB port to charge from anywhere without a computer, but really, anywhere with a USB port will work to charge your ipod! Just plug in the USB cable into the ipod, then plug the other end into the computer's USB port. :-D

P.S. The nano should have come with a USB port cable- I'm assuming it did otherwise you'd probably be complaing because there'd be no way to put any music on your iPod.
