Bought GarageBand today for my 64GB AT&T 3G iPad 2 loaded with the most current OS. GarageBand crashed on first start. I deleted it and reloaded, same result. Any thoughts/help?
I had the same problem where it would crash after a few seconds and I tried exiting the app in the few seconds before it crashed and then reopening GarageBand and this fixed the problem for me.
Just went by the local Apple Store, tried one of their display iPad 2's, the same problem occured in the apple store, newer heard of an Apple app (nor product) on display with this kind of bug init.
However I tried the Start->Home btn->Exit app, then restarted it again, and it worked!
Same problem here. Just bought it and tried it once. Now it crashes everytime I try to start it. Tried to reinstall, no success. Also tried to quit at startup, don't work.
Right now I'm not very impressed by the application.
What to do....?
I had this problem on Ipad 1... garageband would open for three seconds and then crash, every time. With WIFI disabled, it runs every time. Kind of a bummer, but no biggie really. Runs decently but Ipad 2 would be much better of course. Anyone figure out how to import apple loops into ipad garageband?
Exactly the same problem here (GarageBand hanging for a few seconds at startup, then crashing) on iPad 1 - Tried removing and reinstalling, de-authorising and re-authorising computer but to no avail.
Then tried the tip above - double-tap on the Home button during the "hanging" period and all was fine thereafter.
Thanks Rackdaemon! Now it works, as soon I turn off the WiFi. I can however not usd the built in help since it makes use of the internet.
This is obviously a bug which Apple ought to fix.
My GarageBand was working fine until about an hour ago and now it just keeps crashing when it starts up....have tried the tips from here but still not working, also have rebooted and it didnt work........any ideas anyone??
I'm not getting any crashes, but the audio will sometimes play incorrectly. I just discovered that turning wifi off and on again fixes the problem for awhile at least. What is strange is that shutting down the iPad and then restarting does not fix the problem. Audio from other apps continue to work properly when this happens.
Turning off wifi only appeared to fix the problem. It's random. Sometimes Garage Band works and sometimes it generates garbled noise. I can't identify any work around to make it work again and just have to wait until it wants tomwork properly.
