Ipod Classic 160 GB Frozen. Screen lit up, displaying time, and lock symbol

My 4 month old Ipod Classic 160 GB is frozen. It will not restart. My computer will not recognize it even after a reboot of the computer and an Itunes Update. I was just simply listening to a song, and it suddenly froze and has not worked since. I can't restart it, or make it do anything. It just stays lit up, nothing changing.
Help? It's only 4 months old, and I don't want to pay to talk to someone on the phone about something they might not be able to help with.

There is some basic troubleshooting you can try. First of all, try a soft reset on your iPod by first locking and unlocking the iPod with the lock toggle, then holding both the Menu and the center button together for around ten seconds. Try it a few times. This should reboot your iPod if it was only frozen.

All of this while plugged into a wall outlet if possible.

If that doesn't cut it, try putting it into disk mode and restoring again in iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1363
