iPad supports html5

iPad supports html5

The Safari in both iPad 1/2 and iPhone 3/4 does not support flash but html5 while the Safari in iMac does support flash and html5. Can someone clarify it for me. I have learnt that there is other web browser for iPad to support flash in case of need for certain websites visiting.

MacBook Air, iMac 27", Mac OS X (10.6.7), iPhone 4 - iOS 4.3.1

You are correct. Adobe have not developed a version of Flash for iOS devices.
Try Skyfire. It is a browser that converts some Flash video on the fly, and is getting better with each version.

Thanks for your reply. I took a look at Skyfire in App Store and found from customers comments that it is not working in full. It should just work or does not work. Why it works for some but not all?

I can't answer your question. Maybe it's down to the way developers embed the video into their sites, I don't know. All I can say is that it seems to handle proportionately more and more successfully with each version. Having said that, the number of times I use it seems to be getting less and less as more sites move away from Flash.

I may try Skyfire. I use my iPad for almost everything now. I love this tablet. And, I understand the reasoning behind not wanting Flash. But, when a weather bulletin video won't play because of Safari's lack of HTML5 support I started that nervous laughter thing. You have to admit it's kind of funny for Apple to make such an issue of it and now this.

Oh well, time to crank up the Mac Mini.
