Hi Guys, I'm upgraded to iOS 4.3.1 and the Find My iPhone feature is not working. My MobileMe account picks up the iPhone but says: No Location Available. Even though I can pick up my location on Google Maps/Facebook/Camera/Google without any problems on my iPhone. I installed the Find My iPhone app on my iphone and the same thing happens, picks up the phone but give a message: No Location Available. I tried on 3G/Wifi still

Time Zone = Johannesburg, South Africa
MobileMe Push is enabled

Is anyone else experiencing problems with Find My iPhone?

iPhone 4, iOS 4

    is Location Services on?
  • MrEddyG Level 1 (0 points)
Yes location services is turned ON, although there is no Find my iPhone option under Location services. I guess it's only under MobileMe in Mail.

BTW I'm using an iPhone 4

I just tired now with my Mom's iPhone, still the same issue. MobileMe picks both iphones up, after around 3mins the message for both iphones are: No Location Available.

It's strange though, using GoogleMaps app it picks up my exact location. So why doesn't MobileMe work.

Also I have deleted the MobileMe email account from my phone and created it again. Still the same problem.

I just got iphone4 as did my wife. Her phone works great with find my iPhone but mine says location services disabled. Called apple and till my phone can't be found. Any one have and thoughts? Yes location is turned on and so is push.

Same problem, can't get Find my iPhone to work on my 3GS running iOS 4.2.1. I have location services on and also turned on Fetch Data: Push and set to hourly. The Apple instructions say to just add a MobileMe account to my iPhone, then turn on Find my iPhone, which I did. But do I also have to install the app on my iPhone since it's not an iPhone 4? Maybe I'll try that next.

My phone is unlocked; wonder if that matters. (Find my iPad works fine, by the way.)

Is the date and time correct on your iPhone? According to the Apple KB guide, that can cause that message:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2734

P.S. I only have the free mobile.me account for find my iPhone. I do not have push enabled, and all my email accounts are set to manual fetch. Find-my-iPhone works fine for me. All you should need is the slider under you mobile.me account set to find-my-iPhone = ON and location services enabled (and there is no named setting under location services settings for the find-my-iPhone service).

Thanks for the response. Yes, date is set to auto and is accurate. I did see that listed in the troubleshooting guide; I've checked everything the article suggests, with no luck. I even deleted the MobileMe account, then added it back in, thinking maybe I set up my 3GS before my iPad, but still no luck. Locations services working fine. Starting to wonder if it has something to do with it being an unlocked phone using T-Mobile... If anyone has gotten theirs to work, I'd love to hear about it!

I lost my connection to Find My iPhone when I changed my Apple ID password in iTunes, but forgot to change it in the Find My iPhone app. Could that be the problem?

    Regards,

    I am still unsuccessfully ...

No succes on my end either (iPhone 3Gs running 4.2.1). I've tried everything suggested here and in Apple/MobileMe support. I also tried deleting MobileMe accounts from both my iPad and iPhone, then started over on the iPad, thinking maybe I had set them in the wrong order. MobileMe lists my iPhone but has never been able to come up with it's location or send a message. (Locations services and push on.) iPad worked right away. The only reason I can come up with is because it's unlocked and using T-Mobile...

i had all the same problems as everyone. then I tried powering down the ipad (even when I bought it, it was in sleep mode so it had never been off). to power down, To turn off the iPad, locate the hold button on top of the iPad, at its right side. This is a physical button, not an onscreen one. Press the hold button for a few seconds, until a slider appears at the top of the screen that says "slide to power off."

To turn the iPad off, move the slider from left to right. If you don't want to shut it down, tap the "cancel" button at the bottom of the screen.

After I turned it back on (by pressing and holding the same button), it worked!
