urgghhhhh....it was that simple? I feel like a moron now. Had 2 folders stuck the past 2 months in the sidebar....
Anyways thanks dude!🙂
The change was instigated with 10.6.7; it's given a lot of people some grief!
The "Hold CMD and drag it off" fix did not work the first time, but persistence resulted in success. This happened for two folders that had been stuck. The fix is idiosyncratic, but it works. Thank you, captfred.
Thanks. I have been trying to figure this out. I don't recall it being so "non-intuitive" a few versions ago.
Thank you, Captfred!
Thanks CaptFred. I just upgraded my HD and had folders pointing to missing locations after new OS install.
Had this problem this week and tried the CMD + move and it didn't work. Seemed weird that it didn't.
Then I re-started the computer and it did work after all. Hope that helps somebody.
I have a document stuck in my finder sidebar, and it will not delete using the command/drag approach. I cannot even highlight it without it opening. Nothing is working. Why is such a simple thing taking so much time? Apple is supposed to be intuitive and easy, that is why I paid 3x as much for this MacBook as I could have for a pc. Please help!
Well, as soon as I vented, and went back for one last try, the CMD drag Worked! I have no idea what I was doing wrong. sorry all, bjm
awesome! thanks!
