I'm having this problem as well. It only happens with one specific friend but every time they check in somewhere I get a notification. I have it turned off in settings. I don't want to unsubscribe from them, just stop getting the check-in notifications. Any ideas?
on my iphone I don't get those facebook notification menus, I get a message "Notification settings, including push notification settings, are located inside the app. Open your bookamarks and tap account settings", I tried but can't figure it out how, can someone please help me, I'm so annoyed of people check ins everywhere

Sorry Michael Bratley but English must clearly not be your first language when the guy clearly states he's already turned notifications off in settings then you tell him to do what he's already done lol
But dont feel bad it's the same story through out this forum

Anyone figured out why I only get nearby notifications (within the app) from only one person yet?
When I have all settings notifs turned off and nearby within Facebook app turned off too?
How can I turn off Facebook check-in notifications?
