I am looking or a good iPad 2 case. I am thinking of the hard candy candy note or belkin's verve folio or grove bamboo case. Recommendations?

Since I can't remove my post I want to follow up on it.

Portenzo's cases are marvelous but I clearly had a slightly funky one... I saw a co-worker's case and it was so very much like mine but, as I wrote, mine was a little off. Portenzo came back to me, offered to send me out a new case international express to replace the one I have or refund my money and let me keep the off-one. No way - the more I use it, the more I like it so I took the replacement.

It's a really fantastic case - materials and finish are neigh-perfect. Alas, we're all human and boo-boos hit the best of us. Portenzo is a bit of a victim of their own success, with their response time to letters is running a week now, but if something is amiss they certainly went the extra mile…and then some.

Highly, highly recommended.

In case anyone is still looking for a slim iPad 2 case that covers the entire iPad. I have found Khomo dual iPad 2 case on amazon.com. It has a poly carbonate back that aligns perfectly to the camera and buttons. The back of the case is attached to a polyurethane front cover that acts just like the Apple smart cover. This case is perfect. It protects all areas of the iPad, while still keeping the slim form factor of the iPad. The magnets work extremely well. The case feels well built, not flimsy. This is the closest thing to the original iPad 1 Apple case but with the function of the apple smart cover. I absolutely love it. AND, the best part? It's only $19.99!!!

I did A TON of reasearch and I've narrowed down this choice to two options that work perfectly for home, travel and professional use. I rotate between the two.

(1) Smart Cover Set Up: II love my smart cover, but I only had to see a friend drop his iPad once to know the back needed protection. I didn't want to loose the slim esthetics of the device, so this thin, clear back cover has been perfect. I've had at least 5 friends buy the same one.

(2) CrownCase Black Leather: It is really faux leather, but it works for me. It is the highest rated case on Amazon and it's as good as advertised. This case fits perfectly, allows access to all controls, and doesn't impete the speaker. Love it!

I recommend the Otterbox Case, it's really a great case, the rubber is different than that of the defender for the iphone, it's got a lot of grip but not overly tacky like the iphone case is, you can still slide it in and out of bags easily. it does add some weight, but it feels very solid. I worried the built in screen protector was going to bother me a ton, but its actually hard to notice, its still perfectly responsive through the screen protector. the screen shield/stand also works very well. initially i figured i'd throw it out once i got it, but actually have come to use it regularly. DEFINITELY worth the 50 bucks for this case. it's built like a tank. i'm a videographer and will be using my ipad to give to directors/producers to monitor footage while filming, so i wanted something that could take a fall should they drop it. i definitely feel that this case will do it. i'd definitely grab this case over the previous version, they made a few tweaks that have paid off nicely. the home button can be a bit hard to press, but it's a minor flaw in my opinion.

I did a lot of research for a case for my 2 and got the Blurex casesold by Amazon for $60 (the 9.94 is for free shipping). See below. Unfortunately, when I accessed the site to get the URL I see that it now has gone up to $95. I guess lots of us liked the case with keyboard and they'll charge more as long as they sell. there's a good you tube video of the case if you scroll down on the Amazon site.

I was looking for a case with a wireless keyboard and was surprised that many have either rubbery keys which most users don't like and many don't have the right-hand shift key. the Blurex keyboard has better keys and they are protected from contacting the iPad.

Maybe you can find the $60 price somewhere.

@dev2nsu - I agree on this whole heartedly. I looked at cases for over a week and finally took the plunge on the Bear Motion Leather Case. It protects the entire iPad front and back. The corners have pretty good coverage without making the buttons too hard to reach. AND it has the Smart Cover feature of turning your iPad off when you close it. The magnets also hold the cover closed just enought to keep it from flopping open. And it was a very reasonable price.

Either I feel unusually strongly about iPad 2 cases, or people wouldn't know a good case if it bit them on the ...

Well, Let's break this down:

There are cases that:

I) Look good (form)

II) Protect well (function)

III) Don't complicate the product /or/ Make the product easier to use (Usability)

Normally, in the world of iPad 2 cases, when you increase one area you also decrease another.

e.g. Heavy duty cases are hideous and don't wrap-around, making for a brick with a touch screen;

Super thin pretty designed cases are worth as much as dirt - for that is the same level of protection they offer;

Cases or accessories that focuse on a facilitation usually don't excell in the other areas (or cover them at all).

Yes, it's a grim market. Right off the bat - if you get yours iPad 2 case in a store, you got a bad case.

Second, and last of all - is there a product that combines all three categories into perfect case-y goodness?

Yes there is! I bought it as my first case, and I can list at least 15-20 reasons why it's better than [insert your case here]

The company goes by the name of Maroo.

Their prices range from $50-$100. Their designs are (fairly) nice. Though I will admit, some are questionable.

But is is :

I) Good Looking (Form) - check

II) Patent-pending secure - (Function) - check

[I mean, the way they secure the iPad into the book-style case literally makes me unable to use any other. I bought a second case from them today just to shake up my design. I'd been searching for a different one. I just can't do it. There is no better.]

III) Easy, full-access; with angle adjustability for propping-up and perfect keyboard orientation - (Usability) - check

So.

Go.

Now,

Google "Maroo iPad 2 case"

You can thank me later.

I vote for the Yoobao Genuine Leather case. The current version is 3. I bought a red one and it looks great with white iPad 2.

Another vote for the Yoobao leather case. I have the black one with white stitching. Looks great with either iPad -- very "businesslike" if that matters to you.
