Sony XDCAM Transfer problem - exception opening file

Hi,

I know that this isn't strictly a fcp problem, but was wondering if anyone has experienced this issue before.

When importing footage into the XDCAM Transfer application, we consistently come up with an error message that always seems to relate to clip 43. The message...

" Exception opening XDCAM EX file (Condition Failure-cannot open..."
(then the file path and name of the clip)

comes up when we import the footage and when we try and convert the footage through XDCAM Transfer. All the other clips are fine, it's just always clip 43, regardless of what that clip is.

Has anyone experienced this before?

We're running XDCAM Version 2.12.0 and Mac OSX 10.6.6 on a MacBook Pro.

You could try putting the card back in the camera and restore media. That has fixed corrupted files for me in the past.

Have you tried using FCP's Log and Capture to bring it in ... does that throw up an error too? How about if you use the new XDB (XDCAM Browser v1.1)?

Hi, I've tried using Log and Capture to bring it in but I don't seem to have the right setting under the Capture Preset controls.

Also, when I actually look at the clip folders in the CLPR folder, the folder with clip 43 has a different file name, in this instance 'S~998848' Everything inside it seems to be ok.

We format the cards every time we re-use them, is this the same as restoring them?
