Sep 20, 2016 6:46 PM in response to tjkby Editgrrl1,I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to add to it - found this shortcut online tonight while searching this very issue. From this very useful article: http://www.macworld.com/article/1167762/ten_stellar_keyboard_shortcuts.html - "Select a file and press Command-down-arrow and the file will open with its default application".
Magic.
My thumb has had it with this trackpad. Hopefully this will help.
