Forward button always greyed out

Forward button always greyed out

I'm running Safari and there are several times that I would like to go back and forth between 2 web pages. The back button always works but for the last while ( not sure how long) the forward button has always been greyed out. I can see it but clicking on it will never go forward to a page I just went back from.

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.6.6), Safari 5.0.4

Yep I'm using tabbed browsing but the problem happens even if I only have one tab open and just go forward and back in that one tab

Check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. If you have any installed, turn that off, then relaunch Safari. See if that makes a difference.

Might also try resetting Safari. From the menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset. Relaunch Safari... try again.

I checked and I didn't have any extensions installed. But I turned the little switch to the off. No good 😟
Then I reset safari via the reset button, and quit then restarted safari. Still no luck.
Thanks for the idea's, any more thought?
