How can I set Finder to ignore .DS_Store files?

Hi,

Every time I open a new folder it looks completely different, I think because it's reading the DS_Store file.

Is there a way to get Finder to ignore it completely? If not, is there a way to globally set folder view settings so they are always the same (List view, size 10 font etc)?

Thanks in advance.

Get TinkerTool. Set it to show invisible files. Go to the folder in question, delete the ds_store file that appears there. Close the window, re-open it and go to Finder>View>Show View Options, check the way you want it in "Always open in," then check "use as defaults." Use TinkerTool again to restore invisible files.
