mlb at bat question

hello all. I have a ipad 2 and was trying to watch games on my tv using the hdmi adapter and the mlb at bat. I could not get it to work. does anyone know what to do or what am I doing wrong??? thanks in advance

I don't have MLB but many apps do not put out a video signal. To check your iPad, try a movie from iTMS. I know that the Videos app does put out a signal.

I have a bunch of things on my mind and I hadn't realized that this post was yours. If you have watched movies, the iPad is OK. It's the MLB app that's preventing the game video from accessing the cable.

ok thanks so much everyone. I called the mlb at bat and they said they don't support video??? weird because it worked for spring training?

I would guess that the change is connected to the huge difference in the commercial arrangements for putting games on the tv screen for the regular season.

I'm sure that's it. There's no way MLB is going to let people use the iPad to bypass TV deals and their own CABLE packages.

As much as i like baseball, the mlb people really get me steamed up. To watch games, you not only need to buy mlb for $14, you also have to buy a subscription to mlb. Approx 100, depending on which package you buy. I bought the good subscription for $116, and they still want another 14 for the i pad app. So i just watch on the computer and apple tv. Did you buy the subscription, in addition to the app?

Pogo - if I hook my laptop up and buy MLB.TV then I can watch MLB games live on my TV. Your viewpoint doesn't make sense because I have to buy the same MLB.TV package to watch on my iPad, so why would they disable iPad out if laptop out works?

Because MLB is short-sighted when it comes to video streaming and sales? After all, this is the league that won't let highlight clips go on YouTube... No, it doesn't make sense, but that's Major League Baseball for you.

I'm guessing that if they could block it from streaming out on the laptop, they would do that as well. No sports league is more interested in making their product inaccessible and hard-to-view for the general public in exchange for up-front cash than Baseball, I hate to say...
