Streaming NETFLIX with 3G

Hello fellow iPad 2 owners,

This question may have come up already but I don't want to dig through archives to find the answer. Hopefully you guys can help me.

My question is: If I use 3G to stream netflix, will it use up a lot (or ALL) of my available data?? I have AT&T coverage- 2GB/Mth (been great so far, no complaints) but I want to be able to stream a show from netflix (LAW and ORDER!) without using up all my data. WiFi doesn't work here at my office otherwise I would use that to stream it instead.

Help, please =)

As Netflix adapts the bit-rate based on connection it will be hard to give an exact answer. If it's one show you won't use up your allotment but I would keep an eye on your settings to see how much you've used.

To give some perspective.
At the highest bit-rate and on HD it equates to a little over 2GB/hr (Law & Order is around 40min I believe) Your connection will be based on how good 3G access is in your area.

You could always start watching it and then finish it on computer or switch on wifi on your device when it's available.

Also, here in Canada they recently introduced a multi-tier system so users have the option of using less bandwidth). I watched 10 minutes of a sitcom (after switching to the middle tier) during a commute and it only used up 100mb.
