Seagate Barracuda XT ST32000641AS Causes Blue Screen on Mac Pro

I have a Mac Pro (MacPro3,1) with two Quad-Core Intel Xeon chips that gives me a blue screen when I install a new Seagate Barracuda XT ST32000641AS 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive.

I can ssh in, but the GUI is a blank blue screen after it boots up.

Did I buy an incompatible drive?

Mac Pro 3.2 GHz, 6 GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.5.5), iMac 2 GHz , 2 GB RAM

you mac pro is sata 3.0Gb/sec not 6.0 check the seagate to be able to set a jumper to make that disk 3.0 I have western digital 6.0 and had to jumper to make it compatible.

Turns out that I may have a bad 4th drive bay. The new drive works fine in any other bay 1 -3, but the computer gives the blue screen when any drive is placed in the 4th bay.

Had to call it quits at work, but will investigate more in the morning, i.e. install only the primary drive in the 4th bay. My guess is I'll get the blue screen.

Confirmed that something is wrong with the fourth drive bay. The computer gives the blinking question mark when the boot drive is in that bay.

Any tips on investing this further? Ways to test the pins in the connector versus the drive controller on the mother board?
