Error 6 & Cannot open URL

I have an iPod touch and had lots of problems with it last night trying to sync and coming up with 'Error 6'. My partner went out and brought me a brand new one thinking that the iPod was broken as it was one of the first touch iPod to come out and has been bashed about alot, but i now find im having the exact same problems with the BRAND NEW iPod. Never had any problems in the past. Exact same computer i have always used for my iPod. Any suggestions, getting quite frustrated with it all now! Have checked all diagnostics and everything comes back fine except it cannot find the iPod but it is showing on iTunes! but telling me to restore. HELP

The following may help:
"Error 6: All of the steps in this article apply to resolve this issue. Following iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software frequently resolves this error. There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your Registry. If your default packet size is set incorrectly it can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance."

I do not fully understand the TcpWindowSize and packet size stuff either. Malware is stuff on your computer that does bad things like a virus. You can't turn that off. You need a program that checks for it an removes it. Windows has a program called the Malicious Software Removal Tool. It runs an abbreviated version during the monthly windows update. However, you can run through version from the command line. would use the window help and look up how to run it from the command line (Rub box).
