Application Loader "General Error" (1018) on Upload?

Application Loader "General Error" (1018) on Upload?

I am trying to upload an iPad app on the Application loader (300 megs) and keep getting this error:

Apple’s web service operation was not successful
Unable to process upload done request at this time due to a general error (1018)
The upload process CANNOT be completed for the package 432031492.itmsp

Does anyone know what a "general error" 1018 is or how to address? An "upload done" request, is that an issue on Apple's side?

Apparently so...others (on the iOS Forums) are complaining of the same issue. We don't call it iTunes Disconnect for nothin' 🙂

Try changing to another version of Application Loader or using Organizer instead.

As I said, others are voicing the same on the dev forums.

This kind of flakiness isn't new and usually just takes patient to wait out.

well, i don't understand what do you mean to be patient, is that kind of some backend problem which need to fix? I waited for many hours and it still doesn't work, i'm using Application Loader 1.3(89). And it was all fine yesterday. Many thanks!

I have the same issue! I tried 5 times (4 yesterday and again today) using application loader and failed with the same vague error (1018). I get errors using xcode too...
Any idea how to solve this?

So it must be a server problem, now i just hope Apple will share us more information about this, since Application Loader is the only way to upload apps, be patient is apparently not a satisfied answer.

Hate to say it, but i am glad that other people are experiencing this. It started yesterday for me while trying to upload my first app and I had no idea what was going on. Hope someone figures this out soon

Move up to Application Loader v 1.4 (1.3 is at least three versions old) - should be inside the Utilities folder w/Xcode 3.2.6.

There is a history of the backend being unreliable. We never learn what the specifics are and most times waiting is the only choice.
