Lost iphone

I lost my iphone, and found out person has called haiti. I cancelled At&T service, but the person can still access my email that was already downloaded to the phone (iphone linked to gmail). I have changed gmail password. Can the person still access emails that were in (a) in the inbox, and (b) in folders? I am panicking because one of the emails had a word attachment that had my social security number. What can I do? AT&T and apple tell me they can't do a remote wipe
