Can I savely remove this extension?

Almost everytime I install an update from Apple (and sometimes 3rd party updates or software) I get this notice that a "System Extension Cannot Be Used" - The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/TabletDrv.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it or contact the product's vendor for an update."

Does anyone know if this is an APPLE INSTALLED extension or 3rd party or ??? Can I just go ahead and remove it / trash it and empty the trash?

Thanks for any comments - My MacBook Pro-13" (April 2010) is not a tablet- but perhaps this extension is for use with a tablet?

Best regards,

All I can tell you for certain is that there is no TabletDrv.kext file in my /System/Library/Extensions/ folder, so it is probably not an Apple-supplied extension.

The "System Extension Cannot Be Used" message often appears because extensions are the wrong type, like ones that are PPC only instead of Intel or Universal. Check the system requirements of any updates you download & install manually & make sure they are for the OS you are running. This shouldn't be an issue if you use Software Update.
