iPad 2 Screen Protector vs. Clear Coat

I just bought an iPad 2 and purchased a leather case for it as well. I am looking for a screen protector. I was at Best Buy and noted all the protectors they have, much similiar to what's out there for the iPhone. Preferably, I'd like something I can have the store put on for me.

I was at the mall and came across a Clear Coat vendor. It's a clear protector that actually wraps the whole iPad for $30-40. And it has a lifetime warranty. It looks good and protects like any other protector. Does anyone have any experience with this product?

My main inquiries are does the coating decrease the touchpad sensitivity or the brightness/quality of the screen? And could it be taken off if down the road I wanted to replace it or get rid of it? The salesman says yes, they can even replace it if it gets too scratched up. I'm interested in this option, but also not sure if I should go with something easier to take off if I don't like.

Ran across your post looking into similar options myself, still for an iPad 2 which I now want to use as a kitchen iPad.

FWIW, every time that I was in the Apple Store the people next to me in line waiting to have our phones looked at for various, minor issues, if anyone had a case that adheared to the phone (i.e., could not be removed by them) the Apple Store would not accept the phones to be worked on. I say this simply as notice of a pattern that I saw (it might be different now), but that seemed to be significant point, was the case removable.

I use the zagging invisible shield and have to say that it's one of the better ones on the market. More like a sheet of rubber than plastic and doesn't affect touch or brightness. You can get a whole body kit for about 40 at bby and they will install for a fee. Check around though cause there may be cheaper solutions that will work for you but like I said since it is like rubber it is a little flexible and won't come off like the plastic sheet ones do.

I personally wouldn't give you 10 cents for a Zagg Invisible Shield. It destroys the screen quality/graphics on your Ipad 2. I bought one at Best Buy for $34.98 and I paid $14.99 for them to put it on. They did an excellent job putting it on, but the first thing I noticed was how grainy the picture was...it had tiny pink, blue and yellow dots. I was told this is what every "anti-glare" screen protector looks like. I left it on there for 4-5 days and I just hated it....but since I spent $50 for it, I hated to take it off, but I couldn't stand how my screen looked. I took it off and my graphics are what they should be again!!! I have 2 desktop pc's, 2 laptops and an Iphone, so I certainly didn't need another internet device, The main reason I wanted an Ipad 2 because the graphics are phenomenal. The other advantages like it being lighter and smaller and than a laptop were an added benefit for me. Now I'm looking for a clear screen protector to put on my IPad. I've never heard of the clear coat that wraps around the whole IPad. I'm going to see if there's anyone around my area that's doing that!

I used to put screen protectors on my PowerBook 15, iPhone 3g yada yada. Today's design is much more durable and industrial there is no comparison. The iPhone & iPad use Gorilla Glass or an equally scratch resistant material, The anodized aluminum is also extremely durable and hard to scratch.

I now use my MacBook Pro, iPad 2 and iPhone 4 Naked. There is a more intuitive feel without any obstructions. I do, however, use OptiMist Prime cleaning spray with them and wipe 'em down with a SumiTex microfiber.
