Can iPad (2) battery be replaced

I read that the iPad 1 battery couldn't be replaced and that therefore you had to pay to have your iPad replaced, like a hundred pounds/dollars.

I asked if this was the case for the iPad 2 on the live chat on Apple Store and was told that the batteries are replaced and not the iPad. How can this be if the battery is integrated?

Also, I think the iPad battery is AMAZING

As others have posted, I see no difference in the charge life of the battery now than when I first purchased (bought in on the day of release; iPad1).

Can also say with all of the iPods I have owned over the years, I have NEVER had to replace a battery. I assume it will happen sooner of later, but for an iPad2 its really not something you need to be worrying about.

I would say that one year is not enough to be able to judge the quality of a battery.

Only time will tell ... and we'll be one of the first to read all about it right here on this board. 😉

I am just wondering. I have no need or urge to replace my battery, im just curious. Does anyone know how much it will cost to replace the iPad 2 battery?

I have purchased an accidental/breadown warranty which will cover my battery being replaced anyway, and guess what, the policy was £49 so cheaper than the battery 🙂

If you have the iPad 2, and it is still under AppleCare, they will replace the whole unit FOR FREE! Just click on this link:

If it is an iPad 2, it hasn't been out for a year yet and the iPad comes with a 1 year warranty. Just schedule a genius bar appointment they will replace it at no cost to you!

Good Luck!
