Adobe Reader 10 not working with Mac OS 10.6.7 browser

DennisDS - I am having this problem, too. Our MacBook runs 10.6.7, and as of yesterday, we cannot view PDFs in either Adobe Reader or (per @babowa's suggestion) Preview.
Both Adobe Reader and Preview just bounce up and down in the dock for a while, and then stop.
Does anyone else know a solution?

I'm having the very same problem (and also have a MacBook that runs 10.6.7).
Suggestions much appreciated!
For everyone having the problem:
Highlight one of your .pdf documents. Hit Command + I on the keyboard for the "get info" window to open up.
Check to see what the "Open with" shows. If it is not Preview, choose Preview. You may have to click on the little lock in the bottom right corner first to unlock it and enter your admin password. When done, click the little lock to close it. Close the window. Restart computer. Try a .pdf now to see if it works.
Having the same problem as everyone else -- just started a couple of days ago. Tried babowa solution and did not work -- can't download and view in preview either. would love some help.
thanks
Just found solution elsewhere -- this worked for me:

Go to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Move the Adobe PDF Viewer plugin to the Trash.
Restart your Mac.
Tried everything else and this immediately solved the issue! Thanks!!!
Braubear, After HOURS of trying to find a solution I used your suggestion and it worked for me lickety split!
UNBELIEVABLE!
