iCal server and Email invitation config

Hi all,
I'm trying to setup email invitation with an external mail service (GMAIL.com). I used config informations from gmail (the same from mail app) but I got "IMAP factory connection failed".
Exactly the error log reports: "[*twistedcaldav.mail.IMAP4DownloadFactory#error] IMAP factory connection failed*"
Can someone help me?
Thanks

an update:

I'm using google APP for my mail domain. My actual setting are:

Mail Server Type: IMAP

Email Address: com.apple.calendarserver@mydomain.com

Incoming Mail Server: imap.google.com

Port: 993 Use SSL, checked

User Name: com.apple.calendarserver@mydomain.com

Password: PlainTextPassword

Outgoing Mail SMTP: smtp.gmail.com

Port: 587 Use SSL, checked

Server requires authentication Checked

User Name: com.apple.calendarserver@mydomain.com

Password: PlainTextPassword

With these settings, ical server log answer with an IMAP connection failed. I can't send email invitation.

Anyone can help me?

Problem Solved:

1 step) follow instruction on http://www.coresolutiongroup.com/wordpress/?p=27

2 step) as mail gateway was not able to authenticate com.apple.calendarserver you have to modify provate/etc/caldavd/ caldavd.plist. On iMIP you have to add <key>Username <string>ADMINUSERNAME

<key>Password <string>ADMINPASSWORD

In this way now mail gateway is able to authenticate!

I was worndering if you found a solution for ical. I set up the email similar to yours, but with my domain outside of the server. Ical sends the invitation, but when the user gets it and replies.. I get an email back. But ical does not update with the green check mark o red rejection simbol.

Did you get ical server to work? i am running lion server 10.7.4

Same issue here.

a outside user gets invitation from the calendarserver via email.

He accepts it in his iCal client software and his iCal/Mail sends back to the calendarserver

message regarding accepting the invitation. The problem lies, that the calendarserver never gets the reply. The server never marks the invition as accepted(green mark).

This is when the user has Icloud configured on his machine.

When the user dosn't have iCloud, the calendarserver gets reply about accept (but never marks it with green)
