sony mp3 walkman

I have no idea b/c I've never used one before, but does it mount on your desktop like an ordinary USB Flash drive? If so, I imagine you might be able to drag music to it there. Otherwise, you might be out of luck. Try doing a Google search to see if anyone's successfully used one with a Mac before.

The Sony Walkman mp3 will not work with songs bought from the iTunes Music Store. I would check Sony's website to see if they have a support webpage, a FAQ or a user's forum where you can get an answer on trying to get it to work in iTunes.

I have an iPod and do know that Sony isn't too Apple-friendly so they probably aren't going to make this easy for you. I also know that they are trying to push their proprietary file format, ATRAC3, for the music player devices.

I'd suggest that you return it and get an iPod instead, I'm afraid, lonik. Sony's use of their own proprietary formats and general lack of support for Macs and Mac software generally at present mean that you really won't ever be able to use it properly without a PC. Even then it would be complex to use with anything purchased from the iTunes music store, as you would have to convert the files to a format other than aac before importing to the player

I have the same problem sony walkman for xmas gift, and cant use it with my imac, have you had any luck getting music on to it yet. if so please let me know how you did it.

Sony's website states that the Macintosh is not supported.

My wife has a Sony NW-HD3, and we have just ordered an iMac G5. Looks like we will be keeping her Windows laptop for her walkman, until we upgrade it to an iPod!

If you can return the Walkman, I would, and get the iPod - much cooler!!
