Ok i set the lock combination...but when i cut off the nano by holding the play button and then i cut it back on it dont ask for the combination....how do i get it to ask for the combination?
yes i did....because i click on screenlock and it says turn screen lock on...and when i click that the combination wheel pops back up...i turn it to my combination and hit the center button and it goes back to the main menu screen...i cut it off...and i cut it back on and it dont ask for a code....what am i doing wrong?!?
1. Menu Extras, Screen Lock, 1st part - Set Combination. Turn scroll to select number, hit centre button to set. WHEN all four numbers are set it returns to menu.
2. Now 'Turn Screen Lock On' menu is selected. Centre button activates with warning message 'Your lock code is: 1234 Please remember it!' AND there is then the option to Lock or Cancel.
3. Lock selected gives the screen where it asks to Enter Code and all the numbers are set to zero. This is the locked screen. No one else can get in unless they know the code (or how to reset it!). If you put the wrong numbers in at this screen the number flash red.
4. Put the correct numbers in and and you end up back at the Extras menu.
oook...im not saying it is not working but this is what i do....
ok i got to Extras...then i click on screen lock....then i got to set combination....after i set it i hit the enter button and then below where it says set combination it says turn screenlock on....then it says lock and cancel...i hit lock and it has the 4 empty squares....ok i type in the 4 numbers and i hit the middle button and it just goes back to the menu that has screenlock...stopwatch....contacts....calendar...and games....then i hold the play button to cut the thing off and then i hit the middle button and cut it back on and it still does not ask for the combination...when u cut the ipod on is it suppose to ask for the combination? cuz mine sure dont....please i need to know when it is suppose to ask for the combination....does it ask for it when u cut the ipod on? thanks...
My son's ipod is doing the identical thing, he set the code and then goes to lock it but after the last enter it just takes him back to the "screen lock" menu and it is not locked. He would also love to know how to make it work.
You should shut it off WHEN it's in the cobination place, not unlock it before you do. Give this a try. If it doesn't work there's probably some problem with your iPod!
