MP3 to MIDI conversion

Dear members:

Is it possible to convert MP3 music files to MIDI files to be imported and played in Soundtrack ?

I would like to know if there is a way to convert music files I already have in iTunes to MIDI files that I can play in Soundtrack and even play with my MIDI-compatible Yamaha keyboard. Is this something possible to accomplish ?

In this case would it be possible to separate the tracks from the MP3 file so that one can actually choose which instruments to play in Soundtrack ? I am trying to find out if I can have MP3 files converted to MIDI and then play all tracks and/or instruments but not the piano portion so that I can play along myself instead. The same could be done with the vocals if one wanted to use the MIDI file playing in the background in some kind of Karaoke session. I hope my question makes sense and I apologize if it seems rather basic as I am just now starting with digital music and have little experiencing with the integration between instrument, MIDI and computer.

Your help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

JC
