QuickTime Pro 7 G4 400 MHz Processor Compatible?

I recently purchased an iPod video and must upgrade my OS to OS X 10.3.9 (at least) to take advantage of video features. Ultimately, I'd like to purchase QuickTime Pro to convert and load movie files into the iPod. The QT minimum system requirements "suggest" using a system with at least a 500 MHz processor. Will it still work with a 400 MHz G4 processor (albeit slowly)?

I think Apple suggests a minimum 400 G3 for QT 7 Pro. Your G4 is much better than that.
I use version 7 on my G3 400 but I wouldn't even think about trying to view H.264 video codec files on it. Again, your G4 is a lot more powerful.
I would also suggest that you completely avoid the H.264 video export found in QT Pro (Export to iPod preset).
Use MPEG-4 (again avoiding H.264) to create your iPod videos. Read through these discussions pages for more info.
