When trying to export a file to mpeg4, whether I choose h.264 or basic I always get an error -108: unknown error partway through the export. Export to other file types works ok. Any ideas?
What is the format of the file you're trying to export?
Does it play correctly in the QuickTime Player?
Use the Movie Info window to view the format and codecs used.
QuickTime Pro doesn't "edit" or convert muxed track formatted files such as MPEG 1 or 2 and Flash.
Use a third party software tool to do the conversion to QT formats (prior to the export) and you'll have better luck with the software.
So, quicktime can't convert an mpeg-2 file? OK, I'll try converting the mpeg-2 file to a quicktime file, then convert it to mpeg-4. Thank you for the help.
So I have Pinnacle software, which doesn't export to quicktime. It can export to mpeg-1, mpeg-2, mpeg-4 (Microsoft format), avi, divx, wmv, and realmedia. Quicktime won't read convert any of these formats. What software will convert to quicktime?
Tried to post this once, forum gave an error, I'll try again. I had to load an mpeg-2 file in quicktime, convert it to .mov format, then load that .mov file and convert to mpeg-4. The resulting file is read ok by quicktime and realplayer, but Cisco iptv still doesn't like the file.
If this is the same IPTV that Cisco and Microsoft were working on then since it's a creation of Microsoft, it won't support industry standard MPEG-4 files anyway (maybe Microsoft's Windows only version).
