Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Where is the number of replies indicator?

In the previous design, I could look at a list of topics and immediately see which ones had zero replies. I would look at those to see if I could help. Now, I cannot tell how many replies there are for a question.

Is there a way to see this datum for each question?

Set your view to be "Discussions" instead of "Overview" or "All Content" (and maybe "set as default")

Then, you will see an "(Updated)" tag next to the ones with new content.

Hello babowa .... mine shows up like that, wondering though if they couldn't make it so we didn't need to 'scrutinize' so closely to see it. A nice bright icon of some sort so we could just scan for new content. Used to be, in the right hand column, I had my info listed with full and semi circles filled w blue to show new content where I had previously posted.

IDK .... still getting my head around this 'latest and greatest' 😉 Part of it is that there was no forewarning of the new forums, had there been I may have gotten some screen shots of the old to aid my failing memory.

I think that, once you get your "homepage" (the Your View tab) set up the way it will work best for you, you'll find things will get easier. I'm gradually getting there. 😉

One thing I'm still wishing for, though, is to have our product automatically appear in our signature, as it used to. I find it strange that it's necessary to go to the Advanced Editor in order to get that, and I think it's valuable information. For example, I'd pay more attention to someone answering me in the iPad forum if I knew s/he was using the same model as mine. Right now it's not always obvious, but maybe that will be something that comes soon.

Of course, by the time I'm done with posting, I've forgotten to scroll back up and select that text....😕

Babowa, in both the "regular" and advanced editors, there's an icon with quotation marks inside a bubble. If you click that, you'll get the quote you'd like, without italicizing and remembering or having problems with un-italicizing.

Actually, there was - first there was an announcement months ago (last August?) about the "new communities" and we were all betting on when that would actually happen. And then, there was a warning on every page (right column) that AD would be shut down at 11 pm (I believe) for an undetermined period - I figured that might be it. I wish I had bookmarked each and every subscription I had because they've all gone "poof" into cyberspace....

I've got mine set up as best as is possible under the new "circumstances"; I find it much more time consuming and difficult and do not care for the Facebook atmosphere. I am not here to friend anyone (the "like" button under each post) and I don't do social networking sites.

Well at least there's that - it's a work in progress and more will be revealed. /crosses fingers

I too am getting there, I have my view tab 'started' - it just doesn't seem to go far enough in things I'd like to customize and some things that are customizable (our products) seems a bit buggy - or I just haven't experimented with it enough.

well my bad for not being more observant re the approach of the new forum 😝. As for the FB atmosphere - I couldn't agree more - makes me want to 'like' your reply - hehe!!

Cool - that worked (a partial quote) - didn't know I could do a partial - duh! - thanks, Sandra.

And, for buz: remember, we are neighbors....... 😀 👿

Hi Sandra,

(long way from iChat 2 - all those threads Gone 😢 )

I use TextExpander and have edited the Boiler plate I have for my sig (pic and stuff)

I added my Spsecs stuff.

I have to go to the HTML Editor to use it and I normally replace a couple of Blank lines I create at the bottom of a Post

(I also changed it back to the Normal view then back again as the software changes the actual HTML and I copied that to the TextExpander panel)

Others I use regularly are "work in progress" again.

You can turn on or off the italic (or bold or underline or strikethrough) text styles by clicking on the appropriate tool on the left of the editor's toolbar. Each of them highlights when turned on for subsequent text or when you move the cursor into styled text or select (highlight) styled text. There is (I think, anyway) a usability problem I described in this post that makes it hard to tell if you have turned off any of the toggling tools, so you might want to read that to see if it helps.
