Use a wired PC usb mouse and right-click the disk and eject it.

It is tricky with an iMac since the Bluetooth won't be functional yet. You may even have a hard time rebooting to OSX (if BC placed your Windows side as the default Startup Disk). Use the power button to shut down and then start up while holding down both the alt key and your (wired or wireless) mouse. Holding down the mouse will (in theory) eject the disk before the grey screen shows your OSX & M$ Startup menu icons.

It sounds that the Microsoft Installer does not like the optical drive inside of your Mac.

Do you have access to an external DVD drive?

If yes, try the Windows 7 install with an external DVD drive.

If no, try to install Windows 7 from a USB drive.

If you don't have an external DVD drive or a USB drive that is 8GB or larger, you might want to consider borrowing or buying one.
