When I click on the App Store the application opens but all I get is the gear clocking. The only way out is to force quit.
I deleated the .plist files hoping this will correct the problem. After rebooting I got the same result.. just the gear..
Any suggestions?

Make sure and restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
It's ok to do this even if you are already running v10.6.7

Tried that.. not much help there
Quit the MAS if it's open.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left then open the Library folder then the Caches folder.
Move the com.apple.appstore and the com.apple.storeagent files from the Caches folder to the Trash
From the same Library folder open the Preferences folder.
Move these files Preferences folder to the Trash: com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist
Same Library folder open the Cookies folder. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the MAS.
This happened to me, to fix it open "Keychain Access"... go to Preferences, then the Certificates tab. Once there set OCSP and CRL to Off. Close the window and quit Keychain Access. Should be good to go!
I forget where I found the fix or I would source it.

You're fully right!! that's the problem, but I think the secutity for original and not original certificates via web is off. So I think Apple should find out a solution for this problem.
I turned OCSP back to best attempt and CRL to off. The App Store App loads perfectly.
When both are on the App just hangs..

Had the same problem and the changing the pref in the Keychain worked for a while. Recently the App Store quiet loading again. I did the iTunes (10.2.2) update today and by coincidence??, the App Store works again??
I did the iTunes 10.2.2 update yesterday.. The App Sore still does not load properly.
I wonder if the App Sore is still loading for you?
