I can't figure out how to subscribe tomindividual users, "watch" in thenold parlance. I don"t want an RSS feed. I just want tomsee when the people i'm interested min posted last. Apologies for the errors in this post. Even while initially composing a post, can't go back and edit. Pressing and holding doesn't bring up the magnifying glass. There isn't anyway for me tomsee where the insertion point is at all.

Hi Meg. By way of experiment, I just went into your (public) profile and clicked the "Receive email notifications" thingy on your page.

Maybe we could meet up again here tomorrow and cross reference what you posted with the notifications for you that I received? (I was subscribed to toonz and Roy B before the most recent revolution, and can do a bit of comparing and contrasting of what I'm seeing with you and what I was seeing with them.)

I clocked on your profile and then on receive email notifications. When I go to my notifications page, there is nothing. Imsuspect this means that I will only see thing that you post from now on rather than also see things you have posted recently as I did in the old forums. Additionally, I don't really want email notifications. I just want to look at the page and see if there is new activity in the topics or users i'm watching. I suddenly feel as if i'm trying to do this in a language don't speak.

Is it just one person or multiple people? If you want to watch more than one person you need to add a new widget. Is that what you mean?

To change the user the widget is looking at: Go to "your View" and click the 'personalize' link by where it says "Your View". This gives edit menus at the top of each widget in "Your View" (look a the right of the title of the widget). Select "edit this widget" and change the user it is watching here.

When you are done make sure you select "Publish Layout", otherwise your changes won't show.

Let me know if this is not clear.

Best wishes

Ahh. I was looking for a way, while reading a thread, to click on a user's profile, and then have some sort of way to click on something to watch them. I didn't realize I had to create a widget, and find them from within the widget for every single person. Not liking that so much.

Also, am I missing some indication that there is new content in the threads of the individual I'm watching? I used your hint from another thread and am watching myself. That was very helpful as I don't want email notifications but do want to track the threads I've replied to.

I'm trying very, very hard not to start screaming, "But I liked it better the old way!!!!!!"

Thank you for all your help!

🙂 Phew ... have desubscribed then (you're busy here, and I got a serious dose of inbox shock when I woke up this morning).

Thanks also to John for the instructions on watching users. Have tried to do that, but my widgets are misbehaving. I can drag them, but they don't seem to drop anywhere.
